Everyone deserves the tools to recover

The Medical Loan Closet of Henderson County is a charitable faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit operated primarily by volunteers that refurbishes donated durable medical equipment (DME). In turn we provide this equipment at low or no cost to our neighbors in Western North Carolina facing recovery from illness, accident, or otherwise in need of this equipment on a short or long-term basis.

Mobility Equipment

Equipment that supports safe and comfortable movement. Wheelchairs, walkers, knee scooters (prescription required), canes, crutches, and more. 

Bedroom & Home Care Equipment

 Equipment that supports comfort, care, and daily living at home. includes hospital beds, overbed tables, sit-to-stand, and other home care items.  

Bathroom Safety Equipment

Items designed to promote safety, stability, and independence in the bathroom. Including elevated toilet seats, commodes, shower chairs, and tub transfer benches. 

Post-Surgery & Recovery Equipment

Equipment designed to aid in post-surgery recover. Includes ice machines and other therapeutic aids. 

Personal Care Supplies

Disposable personal care items that support comfort and dignity. Includes tabbed briefs, pull-ups, bed pads, and more.

Refurbished Electric Scooters & Wheelchairs

We Repair, clean, and tune up donated electric scooters and wheelchairs, often installing new batteries. We then sell them at greatly reduced prices.

The Medical Loan Closet relies on charitable contributions to cover cleaning, repairs, storage, and replacement of equipment so we can keep our fee affordable.

Neighbor Impact
